ABSTRACT: Transmission arrangement for information sig- nals comprising a fixed input network, a fixed output network and at least one adjustable network coupled between the fixed input and output networks. The adjust- able network has a transfer characteristic as a function of the frequency .omega. within a prescribed frequency band approximately equal to C exp [kf (.omega.)], where C is a con- stant and k a continuously variable parameter. The adjust- able network comprises N channels connected in parallel between input and output and having a number n from the series of integers 1,2, ..., N, the channel having number n=1 comprises a fixed circuit coupled between input and output of the adjustable network and which has a fixed transfer characteristic. The channels having a number n with 2?n?N comprise a fixed circuit and an adjustable circuit in cascade between input and output of the adjust- able network. The fixed circuit for the channel having a number n with 2?n?N has a transfer characteristic approx- imately equal to [f (.omega.)] n-1/(n-1): times the fixed trans- fer characteristic for the channel having number n=1. The adjustable circuit for the channel having a number n with 2?n?N is controlled by the continuously variable k and has a transfer kn-1 substantially independent of the frequency .omega. whereby the transfer characteristic of the channel having number n is approximately proportional to the n-th term from the series of N terms of the development of exp [kf (.omega.)] to powers of kf (.omega.).
