ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The method for producing the transmission device including coupling means connected to a sleeve comprises forming a collar from an apertured blank of the coupling means and cold forming projecting portions on the outer surface of the collar for connecting the collar to rotate with the sleeve. The projecting portions may be formed by expanding the collar in a die from which die the collar is removed before connection to the sleeve. Alternatively, the projecting portions may be formed by radially expanding the collar in the sleeve whose inner surface has projecting portions which form the projecting portions of the collar upon contact with the collar during the expansion of the latter.
