Abstract of the Disclosure A transmission comprises a main change speed mechanism, an auxiliary change speed mechanism, a rear differential mechanism and a cassette type supple- mentary change speed mechanism. The supplementary change speed mechanism acts on the transmission through an opening defined in a transmission case housing the transmission. The supplementary change speed mechanism is housed in and supported by a supplementary change speed case which is attached to the transmission case. Transmissions of various specifications may be provided by making various types of supplementary change speed mechanism. The supple- mentary change speed mechanism is applicable to a propelling transmission line and/or a power takeoff transmission line.
