The invention proposes a transmitter (1), notably for a user portable radiotelephone terminal, of which the output comprises an amplifier (10) and means (13, 15, 16, 17) of controlling the output power level of the said amplifier. The transmitter also comprises means (6, 7, 8, 9) for controlling the power level of the input radiofrequency signal provided to the said amplifier so as to position the operating point near or at the limit between the linear operating zone and the saturation operating zone.

L'invention propose un émetteur (1), notamment pour terminal radiotéléphonique portable d'usager, dont la sortie comporte un amplificateur (10) et des moyens (13, 15, 16, 17) permettant de commander le niveau de puissance de sortie de cetamplificateur. L'émetteur comporte en supplément des moyens (6, 7, 8, 9) permettant de contrôler le niveau de puissance du signal d'entrée radiofréquence fourni audit amplificateur pour pouvoir en positionner le point de fonctionnement près ou au niveau de la limite entre zone de fonctionnement linéaire et zone de fonctionnement en saturation.
