A monolithic transmitter photonic integrated circuit chip comprises an array of modulated sources formed on the PIC chip and having different operating wavelengths according to a standardized wavelength grid and providing signal outputs of different wavelengths. Pluralities of wavelength tuning elements are integrated on the chip, one associated with each of the modulated sources. An optical combiner is formed on the PIC chip and the signal outputs of the modulated sources are optically coupled to one or more inputs of the optical combiner and provided as a combined channel signal output from the combiner. The wavelength tuning elements provide for tuning the operating wavelength of the respective modulated sources to be approximate or to be chirped to the standardized wavelength grid. The wavelength tuning elements are temperature changing elements, current and voltage changing elements or bandgap changing elements.

L'invention concerne un microcircuit photonique d'émission (TxPIC) monolithique comprenant un réseau de sources modulées formées sur le microcircuit intégré PIC et possédant différentes longueurs d'ondes d'exploitation selon une grille de longueurs d'ondes standardisée et générant des sorties de signalisation de différentes longueurs d'ondes. Des pluralités d'éléments d'accord de longueurs d'ondes sont intégrés dans le microcircuit, un élément étant associé à chaque source modulée. Un coupleur optique est formé dans le microcircuit PIC et les sorties de signalisation des sources modulées sont optiquement couplées à une ou plusieurs entrées du coupleur optique et forment une sortie de signalisation de canal combinée du coupleur. Les éléments d'accord de longueurs d'ondes servent à accorder de manière approximative la longueur d'onde d'exploitation des sources modulées respectives ou à la faire fluctuer selon la grille de longueurs d'ondes standardisée. Les éléments d'accord de longueurs d'ondes sont des éléments à variation thermique, des éléments à variation de courant et de tension ou des éléments à variation de largeur de bande interdite.
