A cookware cover comprises a light-transmitting cover member and a heat-resistant rim which may be removably connected to the cover member. The heat-resistant rim insulates the cover member from cookware during use to prevent heat conducted through the cookware from adversely affecting the cover member. Alternatively, the cookware cover may comprise at least two light-transmitting cover members connected such that an air pocket extends therebetween.
