Transparent Polyamides, Process for Producing them and their Use for the Manufacture of Shaped Articles A B S T R A C T New transparent polyamides consisting of recurring structural elements of formula I Image (I) wherein m, R1, R2 and R3 are as defined in claim 1 and the carbonyl groups are linked to the benzene ring in 1,3- and/or 1,4-position are described. The novel polyamides are suitable for the manufac- ture of transparent shaped articles, and are distinguised by good thermoplastic processing characteristics, low water absorption, high stability to hydrolysis and good dimensional stability under the action of moisture.
