A transponder system used as a lock and key system is described herein. The transponder system includes an electronic lock assembly provided with a housing, an interrogator circuit, a magnetic switch through which the interrogator is powered and a toroidal antenna. The transponder system also includes an electronic key provided with a housing made of a slightly resilient material, a transponder circuit, and a toroidal antenna. The key assembly may be releasably mounted to the lock assembly since the housing of the key assembly is made of a slightly resilient material. The interrogator is energized only when the magnet of the key assembly is in the proximity of the magnetic switch, therefore allowing the transponder system to be used in battery operated environments.
L'invention est un transpondeur qui est utilisé comme système de verrouillage à clé. Ce transpondeur comprend un dispositif de verrouillage électronique doté d'un boîtier, d'un circuit interrogateur, d'un commutateur magnétique au moyen duquel l'interrogateur est alimenté, et d'une antenne toroïdale. Il comprend également une clé électronique dotée d'un boîtier fait d'un matériau légèrement élastique, d'un circuit transpondeur et d'une antenne toroïdale. Cette clé peut être installée de façon amovible sur le dispositif de verrouillage car son boîtier est fait d'un matériau légèrement élastique.
