The transport system has a load-carrying device having a lifting beam provided on each side thereof with an elongated continuous hook rail as well as a plurality of hooks for the load to be transported, with the load hooks being adapted to be engaged into the hook rail. Each hook rail and load hook having two substantially vertical shoulder surfaces and a sloping load supporting surface. The associated shoulder surfaces and load supporting surfaces having a positive fit in the engaged state.
