A transport vehicle for taking up and taking off in particular long containers (6) onto or from a loading platform (4) has road wheels (11, 12, 13) incorporated in a carrier (14). The carrier is movable, with respect to the loading platform (4), in a longitudinal direction between a rearmost position for driving and a foremost position in which the loading platform projects behind said carrier and can be tilted as far as the ground. In order to decrease the load on the hindmost road wheels (13) in intermediate positions of the container, and to correct positional deviation of the vehicle with respect to the container, there are disposed on said carrier (14), rollers or wheels which can be pushed down in order to partially unload the road wheels (13), and at least some of which have a horizontal axis which is slightly slanting with respect to the transverse direction of the vehicle. This position is therefore corrected by the vehicle being driven slightly forwards or backwards.
Un véhicule de transport permettant de faire monter et de faire descendre notamment des conteneurs longs (6) sur ou depuis sa plate-forme de chargement (4) comporte des roues (11, 12, 13) incorporées dans un support (14). Ce dernier est mobile, par rapport à la plate-forme de chargement (4), dans un sens longitudinal entre une position arrière extrême pour la conduite et une position avant extrême dans laquelle la plate-forme de chargement fait saillie derrière ledit support et peut être inclinée jusqu'au sol. Afin de diminuer la charge sur les roues situées le plus à l'arrière (13) dans des positions intermédiaires du conteneur, et pour corriger les écarts de position du véhicule par rapport au conteneur, ledit support (14) comporte des roulettes ou des roues qui peuvent être abaissées afin de décharger partiellement les roues (13), et dont au moins certaines présentent un axe horizontal légèrement incliné par rapport au sens transversal du véhicule. On corrige donc cette position en faisant avancer ou reculer légèrement le véhicule.
