A transportable building system includes a cargo shipping container (10) and a plurality of components (20, 22) carried in or on the container, or forming part of the container. The components may be rearranged and/or interconnected to provide a structure incorporating the container. These components include structural members (34, 36) adapted to be stored within the container during transport but to be fastened to the container in the erected structure so as to project from the container. The respective structural members when so fastened form load bearing frame components (34, 36) of the structure for supporting further components above the container.
Ce système de construction transportable comprend un conteneur (10) d'expédition de chargement ainsi qu'une pluralité d'éléments (20, 22) portés dans ou sur le conteneur, ou solidaires de celui-ci. On peut réagencer ces éléments et/ou les relier entre eux afin de constituer une structure incorporant le conteneur. Ces éléments comprennent des éléments structurels (34, 36) conçus pour être stockés dans le conteneur lors du transport, mais aussi pour être fixés à celui-ci, dans la structure érigée, de manière à dépasser du conteneur. Ces éléments structurels respectifs, lorsqu'ils sont attachés, forment les éléments (34, 36) du cadre porteur de charge de la structure, afin de supporter d'autres éléments placés au-dessus du conteneur.
