A self propelled transportable lift truck (A) having a frame (1) formed by two spaced parallel longitudinal front members and a rear transverse member, at least two front wheels (5, 6) and at least one steerable rear wheel (7), such that the lifting mechanism thereby extends from a most retracted position between the longitudinal members of the frame. The lifting mechanism to raise and/or lower the lifting tines comprises a telescopic lifting arm (4) articulated about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the lift truck. An operator's cab (2) is located to one side of the lifting mechanism; the motive drive unit (3) is housed beneath the lifting mechanism. The lifting mechanism is provided with a yaw control to facilitate the lateral movement of the lifting tines. In addition, the yaw control has, on demand, the capability to automatically self centre the lifting mechanism. The lifting mechanism is further provided with a control system (52, 53, 54) which enables an approximate straight line lift to prevent tipping when filting the lift truck's maximum rated load. The lift truck is provided with an automatic system (42, 43, 45) for positively captivating itself when mounted and transported on the back of a carrier vehicle such as a truck or trailer. The lift truck is capable of being used on both paved and unpaved (rough) ground.
Chariot élévateur autotracté (A) et transportable, doté d'un châssis (1) constitué de deux éléments frontaux longitudinaux et parallèles et d'un élément transversal arrière, d'au moins deux roues avant (5, 6) et d'au moins une roue arrière directrice (7), de manière que le mécanisme de levage s'étende depuis une position pliée maximum entre les éléments longitudinaux du châssis. Le mécanisme de levage qui lève et/ou descend les fourches de levage, comporte un bras de levage télescopique (4) articulé autour d'un axe horizontal perpendiculaire à l'axe longitudinale du chariot élévateur. Une cabine de conduite (2) est également prévue d'un côté du mécanisme de levage; l'unité motrice (3) est logée au-dessous du mécanisme de levage. Le mécanisme de levage est doté d'une commande de direction qui facilite le déplacement latéral des fourches de levage. Par ailleurs, la commande de direction possède, sur demande, la capacité de centrer automatiquement le mécanisme de levage. Ledit mécanisme de levage est doté d'un système de commande (52, 53, 54) permettant un levage sensiblement linéaire, ce qui empêche le basculement lors du levage de la charge nominale maximum du chariot élévateur. Le chariot élévateur est doté d'un système automatique (42, 43, 45) conçu pour se bloquer positivement lorsqu'il est monté et transporté à l'arrière d'un camion ou d'un semi-remorque. Le chariot élévateur peut être utilisé sur un sol asphalté ou non revêtu (accidenté).
