A sled functional to carry heavy loads, and to be essentially indestructible on high speed impacts is provided. The sled comprises a body formed of U.H.M.W. plastic having two spaced apart wooden sliders. A hinged backboard together with a rope framework are functional to contain a canvas holdall. The sled is provided with a novel hitch for attachment to a powered vehicle.
