Transportation unit (1), such as a wagon and/or train, with at least one plate- shaped alignment unit (5, 5a ), which can rotate about a vertical axis, for picking up a vehicle (11) from a ramp (9) and aligning it, the length (FL) of which vehicle exceeds a useful width (TB) of the transportation unit (1), but the width (FB) of which vehicle does not project beyond said transportation unit, with the alignment unit (5, 5a) being mounted on the floor of the transportation unit (1) so as to rotate on a carrier track, and the transportation unit (1) being respectively fitted with flaps (2) which can pivot onto the ramp or ramps (9) and onto which the carrier tracks extend and as a result also support the alignment unit (5, 5a) in a rotated, partially projecting-out state there.
