The invention relates to a belt to transports a material web in a web producing and/or web converting machine, especially a paper, cardboard or tissue machine from a first transfer location to a second transfer location whereby said belt is bordered in cross direction on each side by a respective longitudinal edge, whereby the belt includes a weight- carrying base structure which is disposed between a paper side polymer layer and a machine side polymer layer and whereby in the region of at least one longitudinal edge an edge reinforcement is provided. The invention is characterized in that the edge reinforcement is formed in that the two polymer layers protrude in the region of the longitudinal edge in cross direction beyond the base structure and a hereby created groove extending in longitudinal direction of the belt is filled at least in sections with a polymer material. The invention also relates to a method for the manufacture of a belt.

L'invention concerne une bande (1) pour le transport d'une feuille de matériau dans une machine de fabrication et/ou de transformation de feuille, en particulier une machine à papier, carton ou tissu, d'un premier point de transfert à un second point de transfert. La bande (1) est délimitée dans sa direction transversale à chacune de ses deux extrémités par une arête longitudinale respective (3) et comprend une structure de base (4) de réception de charge, qui est disposée entre une couche polymère (5) côté papier et une couche polymère (6) côté roulement. Un bord renforcé (1) est prévu dans la zone d'au moins une arête longitudinale (3). Selon l'invention, le bord renforcé (11) est caractérisé en ce que, dans la zone de l'arête longitudinale (3), les deux couches polymères (5, 6) surplombent la structure de base (4) dans le sens transversal de la bande (1), et en ce qu'une rainure (9) ainsi formée, s'étendant dans le sens longitudinal de la bande (1), est remplie au moins partiellement d'un matériau polymère (10). L'invention concerne de plus un procédé de fabrication d'une bande.
