In transverse flux induction heating of electrically cnductive strip (16), conductors (10a, 10b, 12a, 12b) that cross the strip width (14) are stacked, or connected, such that a multiple of the induced current flows across the strip width (14) as compared to that which flows along the strip edges (18). Conductors (10a, 10b, 12a, 12b) across the width (14) of the strip (16) and conductors (12d, 12e) along the edges (18) of the strip (16) are connected in series to insure that th e current which flows in the conductors is everywhere the same. In the case of two stacked cross conductors (12, 12b), this gives an (IxI)R heating of four times the heating across the strip width (14) as compared to that along the strip edges (18).

Dans le chauffage par induction à flux transversal d'une bande électriquement conductrice (16), des conducteurs (10a, 10b, 12a, 12b) disposés transversalement à la largeur (14) de la bande sont empilés, ou connectés, de sorte que le courant induit passant à travers la largeur (14) de la bande soit un multiple du courant passant le long des bords (18) de la bande.
