ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A travelling carriage for strips or slats of vertical blinds has a housing, a pivot pin arranged to be connected with a strip and supported in the housing for pivoting about a verti- cal axis so as to turn the strip about this axis, a mating mem- ber pivotable about a horizontal axis and engaging with a pivot pin so as to pivot the latter about the vertical axis, wherein the pivot pin is supported in the housing tiltable about a tilt- ing axis which is transverse to the axis of the pivot pin and parallel to the axis of the mating member, so that when one or several strips, for example, meet an obstacle, the pivot pin can tilt and disengage from the mating member so that no damage will be caused on the carriage, This result is achieved by support- ing the pivot pin in a lower wall of the housing in a floating manner without the requirement of complicated structures like slipping clutches and the like. The housing and the lower wall are elastically deformable, so that the carriage can easily be assembled and allows the tilting of the pivot pin. - 1 -
