A delivery installation, comprising a delivery device (16A) for delivering a traveling body (1) for conveyance without a self-traveling means between a movable rail (6) and a main rail (11a) by a frictional driving from the outside. The traveling body (1) for conveyance comprises a frictional driving surface (4a) over its entire length. The delivery device (16A) comprises a frictional drive wheel (17) and a frictional drive wheel moving means (18). The frictional drive wheel (17) is mounted on the movable rail (6) and formed switchable between a drive state in which the traveling body (1) for conveyance is propelled through the frictional driving surface (4a) and a drive released state. The frictional drive wheel moving means (18) reciprocatingly moves the frictional drive wheel (17) between a retreated position (R) where the frictional drive means is allowed to come into contact with the frictional driving surface (4a) of the traveling body (1) for conveyance supported by the movable rail (6) and an advanced position (F) where the frictional driving means is allowed to come into contact with the frictional driving surface (4a) of the traveling body (1) for conveyance supported by the main rail (11a).
