A technique for calculating traveltime of a seismic wave in three dimensional tilted transversely isotropic (3D TTI) media includes determining a wave vector, defining a unit vector, calculating an angle of the wave vector from an axis and performing a slowness determination. The technique may be practiced as a computer implemented set of instructions, and may be incorporated into measurement equipment.

L'invention concerne une technique pour calculer une durée de parcours d~une onde sismique dans un support transversalement isotropique incliné tridimensionnel (3D TTI) comprenant les étapes consistant à déterminer un vecteur d'onde, définir un vecteur unitaire, calculer un angle du vecteur d'onde par rapport à un axe et réaliser une détermination de la lenteur. La technique peut être mise en pratique comme jeu d'instructions mis en AEuvre par ordinateur et peut être incorporée dans un équipement de mesure.
