There is provided a method to prevent moisture damage from moisture entering a roof vent on a flat roof structure, the method comprising the steps of applying a receptacle which is deformable and has a memory, deforming the receptacle to fit within a roof vent opening and placing the receptacle below the opening while allowing the receptacle returned to its original configuration. The receptacle has an opening which is larger than the opening of the roof vent and is designed to contain any moisture entering therein for subsequent evaporation.
