ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides in a tread for a pneumatic tire having two inner ribs extending in the circum- ferential direction of the tire, rows of blocks extending in the circumferential direction of the tire on either side thereof, said rows of blocks and said ribs being separated from each other in each case by a side zig-zag circumferential groove, the improvement in which each of the sides of a middle zig-zag circumferential groove makes an angle of about 30 to 50 degrees with the circumferential direction, the sides of each side circumferential groove makes an angle of about 55 to 65 degrees with the circumferential direction, and each of the side grooves is wider than the middle groove.
