ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION This invention is concerned with hydrated alumina, that is, aluminum trihydrate, coated with a silane containing three hydrolyzable groups bonded to a silicon atom thereof and containing at least one monovalent group which contains a polyalkylene oxide moiety therein, and/or hydrolyzates of such silanes and/or condensates of such hydrolyzates. Such treated hydrated alumina are useful in reinforced plastic com- positions and in coatings.
