A textile article having flame resistant properties includes a plurality of inherently flame resistant polyester fibers formed into a fabric, and a finish on the fabric including a cyclic phosphonate flame retardant. The finish imparts a property selected from the group consisting of : a molecularly bound antimicrobial agent which is an organosilane; a fluorochemical soil and fluid repellant, and the finished textile article has a flame resistance that passes the standard method NFPA 701 - 1996 edition testing protocol.

Un article textile ayant des propriétés de résistance aux flammes inclut une pluralité de fibres de polyester intrinsèquement résistantes aux flammes mises en forme dans un tissu, et un apprêt sur le tissu comprenant un retardateur de flamme au phosphonate cyclique. L'apprêt confère une propriété choisie parmi les groupes suivants: un agent anti-microbien à liaison moléculaire qui est un organosilane; un répulsif fluorochimique pour salissures et liquides, et l'article textile fini possède une résistance au feu conforme au protocole de test du procédé standard NFPA 701 - édition 1996.
