92B102/PG ABSTRACT Oxygen produced in a PSA plant 2 comprising two pressure vessels 8, 10 each containing a bed of adsorbent, is ozonised by means of an ozoniser 4 and the ozonised oxygen contacted with a liquid to be treated in a contactor 6 thereby to form an ozonised liquid stream and a waste gas stream rich in oxygen. The waste gas stream is returned via a line 34 to each pressure vessel 8, 10 of the PSA plant 2 during a regeneration step of the adsorbent in the pressure vessel and subsequent to its evacuation by vacuum pump 20.
