This invention provides a process for effecting biocidal activity in water used for hydrostatic testing. The process comprises blending a biocidally- effective amount of a sulfamate-containing bromine-based biocide with the water, and using at least a portion of the blended water for hydrostatic testing of at least a portion of an oil or gas pipeline. Also provided by this invention are compositions for use in hydrostatic testing. Such compositions comprise water blended with a biocidally-effective amount of a sulfamate- containing bromine-based biocide, where at least a portion of the composition is used for hydrostatic testing of at least a portion of an oil or gas pipeline.
La présente invention concerne un procédé de réalisation d~une activité biocide dans l~eau dans le cadre d~un test hydrostatique. Le procédé consiste à mélanger une quantité efficace du point de vue biocide d~un biocide à base de brome contenant du sulfamate avec l~eau, et à utiliser au moins une portion de l~eau mélangée pour un test hydrostatique d~au moins une portion d~un oléoduc ou d~un gazoduc. Elle concerne également des compositions servant dans un test hydrostatique. De telles compositions comprennent de l~eau mélangée avec une quantité efficace de point de vue biocide d~un biocide à base de brome contenant du sulfamate, où l~on utilise au moins une portion de la composition pour un test hydrostatique d~au moins une portion d~un oléoduc ou d~un gazoduc.
