ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement in coating compositions containing aluminum flake is provided. The improvement is coating the aluminum flake with a mono-ethylenically unsaturated silane and then reacting the silane coated flake with acrylic monomers having amine hydroxyl or epoxy groups to form an acrylic coating prior to placing the aluminum flake into the coating composition.
