Patients with aggressive breast cancer, including patients with estrogen receptor (ER) negative tumors and/or patients who have a disease-free interval from diagnosis to metastatic relapse of less than 36 months, have greater survival times than by treatment with DPPE and doxorubicin than patients receiving doxorubicin alone. Greater survival times are also achieved in patients receiving more than four cycles of treatment with DPPE and doxorubicin rather than doxorubicin alone. Greater survival times by treatment with DPPE and doxorubicin as compared to doxorubicin alone are further obtained in patients with metastatic breast cancer and who either have had no prior chemotherapy or no prior treatment type.

Les patientes atteintes d'un cancer du sein particulièrement agressif ( notamment les patientes ayant développé des tumeurs non porteuses de récepteurs d'oestrogène (ER) et/ou les patientes ayant connu un intervalle sans maladie entre le diagnostic et la rechute métastatique de moins de 36 mois) ont de plus grandes chances de survie si on leur administre un traitement à base de DPPE et de doxorubicine que les patientes sous doxorubicine uniquement. On obtient également de plus grandes chances de survie chez les patientes traitées par plus de quatre cycles de DPPE-doxorubicine que chez celles qui ne sont traitées qu'à la doxorubicine. On obtient également de plus grandes chances de survie avec l'association DPPE-doxorubicine par rapport à la doxorubicine seule chez les patientes atteintes d'un cancer du sein métastatique qui n'ont pas suivi de chimiothérapie ou d'autres traitements de ce type.
