This invention relates to a method for treating a tendon or ligament disorder, comprising the step of administration of a pharmaceutical or veterinary composition of IGF to the affected area of a subject in need of such treatment. The tendon or ligament disorder may be the result of a traumatic, exercise-related or overuse injury, or may be the result of, or associated with, a pathological condition. In preferred embodiments the traumatic or exercise-related injury is a ruptured tendon or ligament; a severed tendon or ligament; a tendon or ligament avulsion; a tendon or ligament sprain; limping or lameness; or the pathological condition is a disease, such as an inherited disease, an endocrinological or metabolic condition, an infectious disease, or a disease attributed to inflammation of the tendon, ligament or surrounding tissue. The invention further relates to compositions for the treatment of these conditions.
L'invention concerne un procédé destiné au traitement de l'affection d'un tendon ou d'un ligament, consistant à administrer une composition pharmaceutique ou vétérinaire d'IGF dans la zone affectée d'un sujet en besoin d'un tel traitement. L'affection du tendon ou du ligament peut être provoquée par une blessure traumatisante, résultant d'un effort ou d'un excès, ou peut être la conséquence d'un état pathologique, ou être associée à cet état. Suivant des formes plus courantes, la blessure traumatisante ou résultant d'un effort est un tendon ou ligament déchiré, un tendon ou ligament sectionné, une avulsion de tendon ou ligament, une entorse du tendon ou ligament, une boiterie ou une raideur douloureuse ; ou bien l'état pathologique est une maladie, telle qu'une maladie héréditaire, un état endocrinologique ou métabolique, une maladie infectieuse, ou une maladie attribuée à une inflammation du tendon, du ligament ou du tissu environnant. L'invention concerne en outre des compositions destinées au traitement des états précités.
