Particularly, N-acetyl cysteine compounds are employed to treat seropositive and symptomatic AIDS patients and alleviate symptoms such as weight loss and loss of physical strength. Use of N-acetyl cysteine compounds in conjunction with drugs that affect the pathogenesis of HIV-induced diseases can complement the effects of such drugs.
