H1009 ABSTRACT Fabrics, in particular cotton polyester fabrics, are treated with a reactive silicon compound such as an aminotrimethoxysilane and then subsequently treated with a THP compound and cured with heat and/or ammonia, to give higher fire retardance than corresponding fabrics without the pretreatment step.
