The invention concerns the treatment of hyperandrogenic conditions in humans by the formation of a novel mechanism-based irreversible inhibitor of human 5.alpha.-reductase enzymes from 3-oxo-4-azasteroids having a 1,2-double bond and the pyridine-nucleotide cofactor of the 5.alpha.-reductase enzyme, NADPH. The invention further relates to the isolated inhibitor-cofactor complex.

Cette invention concerne le traitement d'états d'hyperandrogénie chez l'être humain, au moyen de la formation d'un agent d'inhibition irréversible à base d'un nouveau mécanisme, inhibant les enzymes 5.alpha.-réductases humaines, provenant de 3-oxo-4-azastéroïdes ayant une liaison double 1,2 et le cofacteur pyridine-nucléotide de l'enzyme 5.alpha.-réductase, NADPH. Cette invention se rapporte également au complexe cofacteur/inhibiteur isolé.
