The present invention provides devices, small interfering RNA, and methods for treating a neurodegenerative disorder comprising the steps of surgically implanting a catheter so that a discharge portion of the catheter lies adjacent to a predetermined infusion site in a brain, and discharging through the discharge portion of the catheter a predetermined dosage of at least one substance capable of inhibiting production of at least one neurodegenerative protein. The present invention also provides valuable small interfering RNA vectors, and methods for treating neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type l, Type 2, Type 3, and/or dentatorubral- pallidoluysian atrophy.
La présente invention concerne des dispositifs, un petit ARN interférant, des méthodes de traitement d'un trouble neurodégénératif. Ces méthodes consistent à implanter de manière chirurgicale un cathéter afin qu'une partie de décharge du cathéter soit adjacente à un site d'injection prédéterminé dans un cerveau, et à décharger à travers cette partie de décharge du cathéter un dosage prédéterminé d'au moins une substance capable d'inhiber la production d'au moins une protéine neurodégénérative. Cette invention a aussi trait à des petits vecteurs d'ARN interférants précieux, et à des méthodes de traitement de troubles neurodégénératifs, tels que la maladie d'Alzheimer, la maladie de Parkinson, la maladie d'Huntington, l'ataxie spino-cérebelleuse de type 1, de type 2, de type 3 et/ou l'atrophie dentatorubrale-pallidoluysiane.
