The present invention relates to the use of at least one protease for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment and/or prevention of ocular diseases related to neoangiogenesis selected from the group consisting of age related macular degeneration (AMD), choroidal neovascularisation, Hippel-Lindau Disease, iris neovascularisation, ischemic proliferative retinopathy, neovascularisation of the Cornea, and proliferative sickle cell retinopathy, wherein the at least one protease is selected from the group consisting of plant, non-mammalian animal and microbial proteases.
