A method for inhibiting and for reversing the dysfunctional response of vascular endothelial cells to an inflammatory stimulus in a subject in need of such therapy has been developed in which an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising thrombin-activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor (TAFI) combined with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and optionally other treatments is administered to the subject.

L'invention concerne une méthode permettant d'inhiber et d'inverser la réponse dysfonctionnelle des cellules endothéliales vasculaires à un stimulus inflammatoire chez un sujet nécessitant un tel traitement. Dans cette méthode, on administre au sujet une quantité efficace d'une composition pharmaceutique comprenant un inhibiteur de la fibrinolyse activable par la thrombine (TAFI) combiné à un excipient acceptable sur le plan pharmaceutique et éventuellement à d'autres traitements.
