ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Slop oils, both refinery and field, are treated to recover oil therefrom. The water-in-oil emulsion of the slop oil first is inverted to an oil-in-water emulsion by contact with a non-ionic surfactant and oil is removed from the oil-in-water emulsion.
