ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A finely-divided vulcanised rubber is obtained from vulcanized rubber by contacting vulcanized rubber with a fatty acid, contacting the resulting product with a solid alkali and forming a dispersion of the thus obtained product with a liquid which dissolves the alkali but does not affect the rubber; in this way a finely-divided product having a particle size generally less than 20 microns can be obtained and this micronized crumb can be employed in the manufacture of rubber products.
