ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of treating a subterranean formation surrounding a well wherein a solvent including a C4 to C10 alkyl ether of polyglycol ether containing from 10 to 22 carbon atoms per molecule is injected into the formation. The solvent improves permeability of the formation adjacent the wellbore. The solvent may be used as a preflush or afterflush for, or in combination with, other treating agents; or it may be used as the sole essential treating agent.
