A tree stand comprises a planar frame structure having a pair of parallel side beams,a first cross bar connected at respective ends to a first end of the side beams, a second cross bar connected at respective ends to the side beams spaced from the first cross bar and a third cross bar connected at respective ends to the side beams between the first and second cross bar. A cradle coupled at respective edges to the second and third cross bar, the distance between the second and third cross bar is less than the length of the cradle such that the cradle droops between the cross bars. Pivotally mounted clasp member are pivotally mounted to a respective side beam adjacent the second cross bar spaced away from the cradle and is arranged encircle a support structure such that the tree stand can be supported thereon.
