The tree seedling stake has an elongate stem member with opposite upper and lower ends, a cantilevered arm mounted at generally the upper end of the stem so as to support, in a generally horizontal plane perpendicular to the stem, a resilient loop having first and second ends, wherein the first end of the loop is rigidly mounted to the cantilevered arm, and the second end of the loop is a free end so as to resiliently provide an opening into an inner circumference of the loop for passageway of a seedling trunk therethrough so as to be supported
