ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel triazine derivative having the formula: Image wherein each of R1 and R2 which may be the same or different, represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C3-C6 alkenyl group, a C3-C6 alkynyl group, a halo C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxy C1-C6 alkyl group, etc.; each of R3 and R4 which may be the same or different, represents a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxy group, a halo C1-C6 alkoxy group or a halogen atom; X represents an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; Z represents CH, N or CY4 each of Y1, Y2 and Y3 which may be the same or different, represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxy group, etc.; Y4 represents a hydroxyl group, a mercapto group, a nitro group, etc., a process for producing the same and a herbicidal composition containing the same as an active ingredient. The triazine derivative has an excellent herbicidal activity and therefore, can be used as an active ingredient of a herbicidal composition.
