ABSTRACT A triazole derivative represented by the formula Image wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an acetyl group, a naphthylmethyl group, an anthrylmethyl group or a group of the formula Image wherein X, Y and Z are the same or different and each a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a lower alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyl group, a nitro group, a trifluoromethyl group, a cyano group or a benzyloxy group, and R2 is a hydrogen atom or an acetyl group, and R3 is a hydrogen atom, an acetyl group or a group of the formula Image wherein R1 and R2 are as defined above, are useful as the inhibitors of lipid peroxidation.
