TRIMMABLE RESISTOR Abstract of the Disclosure A resistor that is trimmable in predetermined increments includes inner and outer resistive strips which are deposited on a base and spaced apart to form a gap. The cuter strip is electrically connected at each end to one of a pair of spaced electrical termi- nals. A plurality of frangible conductive members are spaced apart along the length of the gap and bridge the gap to connect the two resistive strips at a cor- responding plurality of locations. The severing of successive frangible conductive members adjusts the resistance of the trimmer in predetermined increments. In a specific embodiment a thermosetting plastic resin is disposed in the gap to form an insulating buffer pad beneath each of the frangible conductive members.
