Disclosed is an apparatus for the trimming of metal strip and cutting up trimming scrap with a turntable and respectively two trimming heads and two scrap cutter heads, of which respectively one trimming head and one scrap cutter head is in an operating position or in a readiness position. On each turntable, the two trimming heads are positioned with their associated scrap cutter heads at an angle of 180° from one another with the scrap cutter heads positioned in a respectively opposite direction as seen in a plan view of the turntable. This results in a compact construction which requires only a single maintenance position for blade replacement for the respective trimming head and scrap cutter head.
