2106879 9218582 PCTABS00017 Transparent light-emitting compositions comprise a mixture of a polymer, e.g. a poly (vinyl aromatic) hydrocarbon labelled with tritium and a first and preferably second organic compound. The first organic compound, which is at least partly bonded to the polymer, may be a known scintillant such as 2,5-diphenyloxazole. The second compound may be a known spectral shifter such as 2,2'-p-phenylene-bis-(5-phenyloxazole).
