Methods of recovering a triarylmethyl halide from a sucrose derivatization process include the steps of (a) forming a mixture including 1) a triarylmethylated sucrose derivative including at least one triarylmethyl substituent and at least one acyl substituent on the sucralose, 2) triarylmethylated sucrose ester byproducts, and 3) an amine; (b) separating from the output of step (a) i) the triarylmethylated sucrose derivative, and ii) a mixture including the triarylmethylated sucrose ester byproducts and the amine; (c) removing the amine from the mixture of step (b) ii); (d) contacting the product of step (c) with hydrogen halide to cleave triarylmethyl groups and thereby form a crude triarylmethyl halide component; (e) contacting the crude triarylmethyl halide component with hydrogen halide to form a purified triarylmethyl halide component; and (f) recovering the triarylmethyl halide from the output of step (e).

L'invention concerne des procédés de récupération d'halogénure de triarylméthyle à partir d'un procédé de dérivatisation de sucrose comprenant les étapes consistant à (a) former un mélange comprenant 1) un dérivé de sucrose triarylméthylé incluant au moins un substituant triarylméthyle et au moins un substituant acyle sur le sucralose, 2) des sous-produits d'ester de sucrose triarylméthylé, et 3) une amine ; (b) séparer à partir du résultat de l'étape (a), le dérivé i) de sucrose triarylméthylé et un mélange ii) incluant les sous-produits d'ester de sucrose triarylméthylé et l'amine ; (c) retirer l'amine du mélange ii) de l'étape (b) ; d) mettre en contact le produit de l'étape (c) avec l'halogénure d'hydrogène pour cliver les groupes triarylméthyle et former ainsi un composant d'halogénure de triarylméthyle brut ; (e) mettre en contact le composant d'halogénure de triarylméthyle brut avec de l'halogénure d'hydrogène pour former un composant d'halogénure de triarylméthyle purifié ; et (f) récupérer l'halogénure de triarylméthyle à partir du résultat de l'étape (e).
