ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a cart with a coin operated lock and a key to join carts that are in a parked column or to release the cart at the end of the column by the insertion of a deposit coin into the coin-operated lock, the coin-operated lock locking the deposited coin when the cart is released. The deposit coin completes a movement in the approximate direction of its axis of rotation within the coin-operated lock when the cart is released.
