A notched trowel blade for spreading and metering material having a flat rectangular blade with a plurality of notches. A stripe of hard chrome is disposed on the bottom working side of said blade across said notched teeth. The stripe has two side edges disposed parallel with the edge of the blade. One side edge is disposed at the edge of the blade and the other side edge is disposed a distance of one half inch from the edge of the blade.
