he disclosure describes a device that may be mounted on a truck chassis and is intended to spread abrasives and ice removers for road upkeep; it comprises a hopper with, at bottom centre, a longitudinal trough and a hood over this trough. A conveyor at the bottom of the hopper takes two paths, one beneath the hood and another lower down within the trough, so that abrasives and ice removers falling from the hopper are caught on the lower part of the conveyor and brought to the front of the hopper, where another mechanism spreads them on the ground.
