The truck mounted lifting mechanism (10) is carried on a truck frame having a pair of opposed C-shaped tracks (28, 30) extending rearward from the cab (13). A mast (40) having a base (42) carrying an axle (44) engages the outside of the tracks (28, 30) with a pair of flange rollers (46, 47). A carriage (50) is mounted at one end on the base axle (44) of the mast (4). The other end of the carriage is provided with an axle (52, 53) and a pair of flanged rollers (54, 55) which engage the inside of the tracks. The carriage (50) is provided with a threaded central opening (72) and a screw gear (70) extends through the threaded opening (72) and along substantially the entire length of the truck frame. The screw gear (70) is coupled by a chain drive (71) to a hydraulic motor (69), operation of the drive motor rotates the screw gear (70) causing a lateral displacement of the carriage (50) and the mast (40).

La présente invention concerne un mécanisme de levage (10) monté sur camion, et reposant sur un châssis de camion muni de deux rails en forme de C (28, 30) disposés à l'arrière de la cabine (13). Un mât (40) dont la base (42) comporte un essieu (44) vient en contact avec l'extérieur des rails (28, 30) par l'intermédiaire de deux roues à rebord (46, 47). Un chariot (50) est monté par l'une de ses extrémités sur l'essieu (44) placé à la base du mât (4). L'autre extrémité du chariot comporte un essieu (52, 53) ainsi que deux roues à rebord (54, 55) en contact avec l'intérieur des rails. Le chariot (50) comporte un orifice central fileté (72) au travers duquel passe une vis sans fin (70) dont la longueur correspond sensiblement à la totalité de la longueur du châssis du camion. Par l'intermédiaire d'une chaîne, la vis sans fin (70) est couplée à un moteur hydraulique (69), ce qui fait que le fonctionnement du moteur provoque la rotation de la vis sans fin (70) et par conséquent le déplacement latéral du chariot (50) et du mât (40).
