Abstract of the Disclosure A truck for wheeled vehicles, particularly intended for rapid transit railway vehicles, consists of two parallel side frame members connected together by a transom that is rigidly fixed to one side frame and pivoted to the other side frame about a horizontal axis, so that the two frames can swivel pitch to reduce wheel unloading as much as possible. Preferably the swivel has the characteristic of a ball joint to permit yaw and tilt between the two side frames, such a bearing comprising for example, a tube of resilient material between a pin and cylinder. The primary suspension between the wheels and axle units and the frame members may be by resilient pads, while the secondary suspension of the vehicle body is on the frame by vertical springs on the side frame members. The transom is connected to the vehicle body by a bearing that permits pivoting while carrying the traction load. There is no bolster or centre plate and the transom does not carry the car body weight. Preferably the adjacent ends of the two frame members are connected by rigid rods that are connected at their ends to the frame members by ball joints so as to maintain the frame members parallel.
